About Jerome 'Chef' McElroy
Jerome McElroy, also known as Chef, was a popular character on the show South Park. He was the cafeteria chef at South Park Elementary and was known for giving the boys advice, often in the form of songs, and making jokes about sex. Chef was voiced by Isaac Hayes until his death. In the episode "The Return of Chef", Chef was killed off due to a controversy with Isaac Hayes and his disagreement with the portrayal of Scientology in the show. Chef was one of the few African American residents in South Park, and he often referred to the other characters with the racial slur "cracker". Aside from his cooking skills, Chef was passionate about singing and wrote the song "Stinky Britches", which was later sung by Alanis Morissette. As time went on, Chef's singing role was reduced, and he hadn't sung any songs in the few years before his death in the show.
